If you’ve been paying attention, you probably know I’m working on a movie.

I’m still writing it. It’s roughly ninety pages of a final draft document, a hundred or so post-it notes tacked out on my bedroom wall, a series of scribbles in a few different notebooks, and about eighteen pages in the notes app on my phone.

It’s also a playlist.

In my head, this film sounds very specific. There’s a soundtrack I’ve compiled in my head that captures the feel of the film.

Maybe it’s strange to be composing the soundtrack as I’m still writing, but I’m working much the same way Zach Braff did when he handed out mixed CDs of the Garden State soundtrack, back when he was first passing around the script to get the movie made.

This is what the movie I’m writing sounds like.
