I’ve always loved how poetry comes from somewhere deep, almost as though it’s the language of the soul.
Austin Kleon, in addition to being famous as the Steal Like an Artist guy, is known for his blackout poems. He takes newspaper clips and blacks out most of the words to create a poem. After all, creativity is subtraction.
He recently posted a series of poems titled Pandemic Prayers. Of all the art to come out of this time, this might be some of my favorite so far…
As someone who’s felt the tides of faith ebb and flow over the last year, I can’t help but feel these small sentiments in my gut.
